There will be two Carolina Firsts Advocates Trainings for the Spring 2020 semester, Friday, January 24^th from 10am-12pm in SASB North Upendo 1118 and Thursday, February 6^th from 1-3pm in SASB North, Upendo 1118. The training provides faculty and staff with an opportunity to learn more about supporting first-generation college students at UNC. To participate in a training, please register.

The training will include:

• An overview of the experiences of first-generation college students at Carolina
• A discussion of barriers to college completion
• A discussion of factors linked to college persistence and completion
• University resources
