Service Opportunity: El Centro Hispano
Saturday, October 13 | 7:30am
Take a break from studying/research by giving back to the community. We are partnering with El Centro Hispano to help with their annual health fair, “La Fiesta de Salud”. The purpose of the health fair is to educate the Latinx community about Durham’s health resources, engage them in physical activities, and provide free on-site health screenings. Volunteers will serve as translators and interpreters for community agencies and/or help with taking patient vitals. You do NOT need to speak Spanish to volunteer! You can volunteer for the whole day or sign up for the morning (7:30am – 12:00pm) or afternoon shift (12:00-3:00pm).
The health fair will take place at the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh. DSS will be organizing carpools from the GSC to Raleigh.
