IME: Virtual NSF GRFP Training

This training for the prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program will equip you to prepare for and submit the 2021 GRFP application.  

BENEFITS – Five year fellowship period with three years of financial support, Annual stipend of $34,000, Cost-of-education allowance of $12,000 to the institution, No post-graduate study service requirement, Access to supplemental funding to sustain research while on medical deferral (e.g. family leave)

ELIGIBILITY – You MUST: 1) be a US citizen, US national, or permanent resident, 2) intend to pursue a research-based Master’s or Ph.D. program in a GRFP-supported discipline, 3) be enrolled in an eligible program at an accredited United States graduate institution, with a US campus, by FALL 2020, 4) be at an early stage in your graduate career, 5) have completed no more than one academic year of full-time graduate study (or the equivalent), 6) Graduate students are limited to only one application to the GRFP, submitted either in the first year or in the second year of graduate school

We will provide insight, guidance, and examples for writing the essays and other components for your NSF GRFP application, with an emphasis on identifying and developing your broader impacts. Attendees will receive the following:

>Overview of NSF GRFP mission, application, and review criteria

>Tips for crafting a competitive application

>Panel of Fellowship Recipients will share their insights for crafting an award-winning application
